What is PUSHAS' authentication process?Updated 44 minutes ago
Every item sold on PUSHAS is authenticated by hand before it is dispatched. Authentication is carried out inside a PUSHAS facility by trained specialists, and covers the item itself, its accessories and its packaging. Nothing ships until it has passed.
Who carries out authentication?
Authentication is done by PUSHAS specialists who have handled thousands of pieces across sneakers, streetwear and collectibles. They are trained and tested continuously, because the counterfeit market does not stand still and neither can the standard held against it.
No item is authenticated by photograph or by algorithm alone. Every piece is handled.
What is checked?
Authentication is a multi-step process. Our specialists work through the piece in stages and assess each against our internal standard.
- The packaging. The box or outer packaging, the labelling, and the condition it arrived in.
- The accessories. Spare laces, tags, cards, stickers and anything else supplied at retail.
- The item. Physical and sensory checks across construction, materials and finish.
- The condition. Confirmation that the piece is brand new and unworn, and that the listing describes it accurately.
The standard is ours, it is internal, and it does not move.
When does authentication happen?
Every item is authenticated inside a PUSHAS facility before it reaches a buyer. When that happens depends on how the seller listed it.
- Onsite. Inventory is sent to a PUSHAS facility ahead of any sale. It is authenticated on arrival and only then accepted into our inventory. When it sells, it is already with us and dispatches immediately.
- Offsite. The seller holds the inventory and sends it to us once a sale is made. It is authenticated on arrival, then dispatched to the buyer.
Why does an order sometimes take longer to arrive?
Because every order passes through a PUSHAS facility, and that adds time a direct post does not.
An offsite item travels to us first, is authenticated, and is only then dispatched to you. That is an additional leg and an additional check before it reaches your door. We do not shorten the check to shorten the wait. An order that arrives a day later is a better outcome than an order that arrives wrong.
If you want the shortest possible wait, look for pieces marked Fastest. They are already held in a PUSHAS facility, already through authentication, and dispatch immediately.
It starts with the sellers
Authentication is the last line, not the only one.
Sellers apply to list on PUSHAS and roughly one application in six is accepted. Every piece on the marketplace comes from a seller we have vetted and continue to monitor. Any seller found sending counterfeit product is removed from the platform permanently.
What happens if an item does not pass?
It does not ship. The order does not proceed, and the buyer is looked after under our guarantee.
For the seller, inventory that does not pass can be returned at their own cost. Items that are not claimed within 60 days are destroyed.
